Through the juxtaposition of curves, bold color, and expressive shapes, I explore the figurative portrait in all its complexity.

Florals

Inspired by antique Dutch floral paintings, I work with moody palettes and bursts of color, finding beauty in both bloom and decay. Through time spent visiting gardens and learning the art of flower pressing, I developed a slower, more observant way of seeing, drawing attention to the fleeting details, textures, and transformations found in nature.

Bridges

These bridges were painted at different times of day and night. Solid form gives way to atmosphere and observation becomes sensation. These images reflect the shifting nature the urban landscape, no view is ever the same.

Naturescapes

The sparkling light of the full moon, and the rush of the ocean mostly painted from dusk until night.
